We are originally from New Zealand but have lived in London for nearly 20 years. We have been lucky enough to get tickets to the Paris Olympics for 27-30 July so they are the key dates we would really like to swap this year. We will holiday across France/Germany during August so our house is available throughout that period . In general, we would like to explore more of the UK and Europe during the school holiday periods and weekends, and think that home swapping would be a great way to do this. We mainly work from home, and enjoy life in Kingston with the lovely riverside, and cycling/walking around nearby Richmond Park and Hampton Court Palace.

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
We have a three bedroom house with two living areas. This was fully refurbished in 2018 and designed by my husband so has been a very personal project for us to create a home we love. It is a small house but well designed to maximise space with lots of storage, and a fantastic location to enjoy outdoor spaces but easy access to London central. There is one double bedroom, one twin bedroom (can be a single bed or converted to double, and a high-sleeper bed. The couch in the front room converts to a double bed. Our house is small but warm, in a great neighbourhood. We have 3 adult and 1 childrens bicycle that could be used to enjoy the local biking paths along the river. We have a trampoline in the back garden and outdoor dining space.
We have plenty of books and toys suitable for children - ours are aged 9 and 12.
There is underfloor heating throughout and plenty of seating areas.
We have two tvs with streaming services of netflix and disney+.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our house is on a quiet street, and is a 10 minute walk to the centre of Kingston upon Thames, a lovely historic village along the river Thames. Kingston is flat and perfect for cycling, we have bicycles that can be used.
We are equally distanced between Surbiton and Kingston train stations, where a train to central London (Waterloo station) takes 20-30 minutes depending on the number of stations it stops at. Wimbledon and Clapham Junction are only 10 minutes away by train.
It is a 20 minute bus ride to Hampton Court Palace, home of Henry VIII. We are also about a 20 minute bus ride to Chessington World of Adventure, a fantastic zoo and theme park.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Locally, there are lovely riverside walks with lots of good pubs and cafes to stop at. The centre of Kingston is good fun in summer, and beautiful in autumn. You can hire a small boat to take on the River Thames, or be a passenger on the riverboat to Hampton Court Palace. Chessington World of Adventure is a great day out for kids with theme park rides and a zoo, this is around 20-30 minute bus ride.
The best thing about where we live is that Central London is very easy to access, a 20-30 minute train journey to Waterloo station taking you directly to the lively Southbank area. There is so much to do in London I won't go into that - but important to know that you can easily enjoy an evening in London - the last train home is just after midnight (we can help with your journey planning). An uber home at night from London usually costs around £30-40.
Enjoyable day trips south include to Southampton, Portsmouth and Bournemouth which are easily accessible from nearby Surbiton train station.

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
We like to keep our house tidy and whilst children are welcome, it is not set up to accommodate small children - ours are 9 and 12. We would be open to guests who have small well behaved dogs. The back garden is fully fenced.
