We are Juliette and Paco, English/Spanish. I am from Kent, UK. I have worked as a teacher and teacher trainer in England, Spain, Poland, Greece, UAE and Saudi Arabia and have also lived in Australia and New Zealand. We love to travel and have made 12 wonderful exchanges (not with this site). We have also done house lettings. Sometimes I travel with my adult daughter and Paco stays home to take of our three houses in the village.
I love to hike locally and do several 3/5 hour hikes a week in the mountains. I am also a consul for Granada Internations hiking group. We are both animal lovers, particularly cats, dogs and chickens. Paco is fondest of horses, mules and goats. We would be happy to take care of your animals whilst we are staying at your place. My two children are now adults and live independently.

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Large wooden chalet in foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains and only 20 minutes drive to Granada and the Parque Natural de Huetor Santillan. Our home is in the perfect setting at the end of a quaint village in a tranquil and secluded place with spectacular views. All amenities are close by, five minutes walk. The village has two supermarkets, a bank and two bars one with terrace. There are many routes for hiking around here in the pine forests of the natural park and amongst the olive groves.
Granada is very close, a magical city with great restaurants and tapas bars, and lots of cultural activities. The Alhambra Palace is a twenty minute drive, the Albaicin (the moorish quarter) and Sacromonte ( the gypsy quarter), Granada boasts many monasteries and ancient churches built in in past eras.
Our house is just four years old with a spacious living/dining area and two large bedrooms. The garden has many tropical plants and a secluded swimming pool from which there are fab views to the valley below and surrounding mountains.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our neighbourhood is quiet and tranquil, very relaxing and peaceful with spectacular views of the mountains. Our lovely home was purpose built and is ideal for couples and families. It is a perfect place for hiking in some gorgeous locations and also perfect for visiting the magical city of Granada, with the amazing Alhambra Palace, the moorish quarter of the Albaicin, the caves of Sacromonte. The Science Museum is worth a visit and great for kids and adults alike. Enjoy the cultural experience of flamenco in one of the caves. Granada has many fabulous restaurants and bars where you can partake of the splendid local cuisine. Experience the Hammam baths as if you are taken back in time to the days when the Moors occupied Spain.
The coast is only an hour's drive away, the spectacular coastline of the Costa Tropical and the Costa del Sol is a must at any time of year. Cordoba is two hours drive away and the national heritage town of Baeza, also two hours.
If you love to hike, there are many trails through the national parks of the Sierra Nevada and Huetor. There is so much to do and see that you could never be bored. Horse riding can be done in Guejar Sierra, a half hour drive from here with spectacular views on route.
