The cozy apartment and cat Plush of Marlies was in a quiet and beautiful area, close to the central station and center. With the bikes we made trips to Delft and Delfthaven. With the "waterbus" to "Kinderdijk". It was just fantastic.

Rotterdam is my new favourite city; it is not London, it is not Paris, it is not overtouristy Amsterdam, it is vibrant Rotterdam ! I was sad to leave this wonderful city, so I hope to return some day soon. Au revoir Rotterdam <3 and thank you Marlies for introducing me to this pleasant surprise of a city. I am in danger of repeating myself here, but there is more to the Netherlands than Amsterdam ! Be brave and go a little bit off the beaten path and you will not be disappointed. The Netherlands is not large, you can go almost anywhere on the train in less than one hour.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Blijdorp is a very quiet and green area of Rotterdam. Central Station, subway, trams and buses are on walking distance. The Zoo, 'Diergaarde Blijdorp' is worth visiting. When you like swimming: Blijdorp has it's own (indoor and outdoor) swimming pool 'Van Maanenbad', hidden between two streets.
Rotterdam is famous for it's architecture, musea, the Erasmusbridge and of course The Port of Rotterdam.
The city of Delft, The Hague, Leiden and Amsterdam are easily to reach by train for a daytrip.
