Our Home For Exchange
Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Cosy house (75 m^2) in one of the most beautiful neighbourhoods of Groningen near the park (Noorderplantsoen)
Our house is situated 10 minutes walking from the city centre main market square ( Grote Markt and Vis Markt) From our house you can easily visit everything that the city has to offer by walking.
The house has two floors and a cellar. On the ground level we have the leaving room with open modern kitchen and the bathroom. On the top floor we have two bedrooms, each one has a double bed (160x200 and 140x 200). The stairs to the top floor are steep and can form an obstacle for elderly people. In the basement we have the washing machine and dryer.
In the back of the house we have a small garden. We usually use the park nearby to sit in the gras and have a drink with sunny weather.
Groningen is an old University city where 1 of the 5 inhabitants is a student, because of this there are plenty of bars and cafes making it a lively city most days of the week. Groningen is also a hub for museums, art galleries, and stunning views of Western Europe’s unspoilt north.
The city is also a good base for visiting the Unesco Waddensea which is 45 minutes drive and the Waddensea islands as for example Schiermonnikoog which can be visited within a day trip. There is excellent public transport. A direct train connection between Amsterdam airport and Groningen and a direct bus connection between Bremen airport and Groningen are available.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
The vicinity of the park (Noorderplantsoen) makes our neighbourhood very green and quiet. People come here for walks and with sunny weather locals will populate the park with blankets just to lei in the gras.
There are several bars in the neighbourhood where you can enjoy a drink or meal. The supermarkets are at 5 minutes walking and in the centre you have plenty opportunities for shopping. On Tuesday Friday and Saturday there is a big market on the market square (Vismarkt) were you can buy groceries, good meat and especially fresh fish.
The bus stop is close by and the Northern train station is 5 min walking.
