We are a young couple from Amsterdam. In December 2022 we welcomed our daughter Eleanor to our family.
We love living in Amsterdam and are exciting to introduce others to the charms of Amsterdam. Tim has been Homelinking all his life and spent most of his family vacations through home swaps. Now that we have our own house we are really excited to finally be able to home swap ourselves.
Tim is a curator at the national Dutch Open Air Museum. Tara works for the municipality of Amsterdam. We make most of living in the city, but also love to go hiking on weekends in the beautiful Dutch landscape.

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Lovely ground floor apartment in Amsterdam North. The apartment is situated in a quiet street and neighbourhood, and close to the excitement of the historic centre. All amenities are within walking distance, as well as public transport to the city centre. It’s a 5 minute walk to the metro which is only one stop to Central Station. And a 10 minute walk to the ferry which runs every 4 minutes and brings you across the IJ river.
The apartment sleeps 3; there is a double bed in one bedroom, and a sofa bed in the living room.
The apartment is part of a historic complex. It’s comfortable and fully equipped.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
The apartment is located in the "Vogelbuurt" (Bird neighbourhood), an up and coming area in Amsterdam. It’s full of characteristic and historic houses. Here you can really experience the raw, old Amsterdam, combined with hip new bars, restaurants and coffee places. Public transportation to the city centre is excellent, and if you don’t feel like crossing the water there is loads to do in Amsterdam North.
There is a small grocer around the corner, and 2 larger supermarkets just a few minutes away.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Everything Amsterdam has to offer is closeby.
Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
It is important to us that the people staying will take the same care of our apartment as we will take of theirs. We ask the people staying to be considerate of our neighbours. So no house guests, parties or other noise disturbance. The apartment is perfect for two people, so we prefer to open up our house only to couples.
