Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Located12 minutes (walk) from the village centre (1km), local harbour, bars, restaurants (selection of seafood, traditional, Italian and Indian), supermarket and shops. Close to the waterfront promenade in Salthill and a walk (5km) by the sea and areas to swim. There are pleasant walks and loops in the area starting at the house. The sea and small pier are a 1.2km walk. There are 3 golf courses close by (1km, 4km, 20km) and other courses within a 60 minute drive. We have friendly and helpful neighbours and there is a strong local community, where people also speak the native Irish language.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
We usually walk to the village for shopping, to the coffee house, for meals and drinks. There are lots of walks in the countryside, three golf courses within 20 minutes and Salthill is a 10 minute drive away. In Galway (15 mins drive) there are many restaurants, festivals, riverside walks, guided tours and tours available to other parts of west and the wild Atlantic Way. Galway is known for its traditional music, events and there are numerous festivals and events throughout the year.
