The house is situated in a semi-rural neighbourhood with houses nearby. But there are trees and greenery all around and surrounding the house. The ocean is a five-minute drive away. There is a village and shopping centre a ten-minute drive away, and a small commercial centre (liquor store, deli, coffee shop) five minutes by car from the house . There is a lake accessible to the public within five-minute drive with swimming platform and possibilities for canoeing. The island offers kayaking and kayak rentals a vineyard, a farmer's market, a cidery and walks with wood and ocean views with the possibility of seeing whales, porpoises, seals and an other wildlife. There are many deer on the island that, when offered the chance, will eat all the flowers and vegetables in the garden.
