There are numerous attractions in every direction from our beach home! Downtown Vancouver is just a thirty minute drive and home to lots of fascinating attractions including Granville Island, Stanley Park, Gastown, Robson Street shopping, and Chinatown. Other nearby day trips include whale watching in the picturesque fishing village of Steveston, visiting the Reiffel Bird Sanctuary in Ladner, or exploring the Little Italy on Commercial drive in East Vancouver. In winter, the North Shore mountains (including Cypress Mountain) provide excellent skiing as does the Olympic skiing resort of Whistler, two and half hours drive north. In summer, both Cypress and Whistler provide excellent walking and mountain bike trails. Vancouver Island is easily accessible by ferry (a 12-minute drive) and day trips include Victoria, Butchart Gardens, Sooke and any of the delightful Southern Gulf Islands. The US border is just 30 minutes south with Seattle two and a half hours drive. A little further inland, a four-hour drive allows you to enjoy wine tasting in the many wineries of the Okanagan Valley.
