Description of the home we are offering for exchange
We are happy to consider exchanges in Australia any time.
We have a beautiful two-story home. There are three double bedrooms, a huge living area and designer kitchen. A wall of glass opens onto a large deck facing the sea and Keppel Islands. All downstairs rooms have doors opening to the verandah on the seaside. We also have a swimming pool in a tropical garden setting.
This is a quiet area, 9 km to the nearest town, but within a very friendly community. Set in country Queensland this home offers you a base to explore Central Queensland's Outback, and the southern Great Barrier Reef. Boats leave daily from the marina taking guests to Great Keppel Island where there is plenty of beautiful coral and tropical fish to snorkel with. Whether you are looking for adventure or seeking quieter pleasures, the Capricorn Region is a natural paradise of vast national parks, spectacular sandstone gorges and tropical islands.
We choose not to exchange between December and March as this is the wet season, very hot and can be prone to cyclones.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our home is situated in a small, friendly neighborhood, called Bangalee, 9 kilometers from the town of Yeppoon. Yeppoon is a beach town with all the facilities one would normally need, including shops, restaurants, etc. Australian wildlife flourishes in this area and seeing kangaroos in the wild is common. Our friends in Bangalee enjoy making visitors to the area feel welcome and are happy to help at any time. Great Keppel Island can be seen from our deck and can be accessed by a fast ferry from Rosslyn Bay nearby. It also has wonderful coral snorkeling and beautiful beaches. There are many opportunities to enjoy our beautiful part of the world including day cruises, wildlife parks, a crocodile farm and a huge man-made lagoon on the waterfront in Yeppoon.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
We are situated on the Tropic of Capricorn overlooking the Keppel Island group and adjacent to the Southern Great Barrier Reef. This area is truly where the outback meets the sea. We are on the beachfront and use the beach all year round. To the east are day trips to the islands and the reef, which are highly recommended and have been enjoyed by many of our visitors and exchange partners. The snorkeling is excellent with colorful reef and reef fish fringing Great Keppel Island. To the west, there are outback properties offering farm stays and gem fields for fossicking. Nearby we have Cooberrie Park Wildlife Sanctuary which offers a great experience getting up close and personal with Australian animals. Near Emu Park, a lovely little beachside town about twenty minutes along the coast and well worth a visit, is Kawana Crocodile Farm which hosts very entertaining and informative tours. It is a working crocodile farm, not just a tourist attraction. Yeppoon is a friendly beachside town with access to most amenities.
